today we are going to talk about BEST SNEAKERS FOR THE GYM
alright guys welcome back to my blog so this is kelsey…..
kelsey is a personal trainer in Toronto and also my best friend she doesn’t know and we could both chat about what our favourite sneaker shoes are for working out for weight training or for leg days for days that you want to go for a run for any kind of cross-training or high intensity workout day they just want to walk down the street and a pair of runners and real cute mm-hmm we both have different opinions but kind of same same but different I don’t know what that means but we’ll figure it out but start with training weight training lifting heavy so we’re talking like squats deadlifts front squats what else lunging and then also leg lateral work – thank you that’s the street that we both have in mind for that it’s like anything agility moving back and forth quick yeah it has a good ankle stability yep our favorite shoe for that is weight okay so Niki Beck on they look a little bit different which yours at country okay but the fabric looks a little different I think it’s like it looks a little bit different I think mine is the Mex on four yeah so mine is the mecca for I’ve been wearing the tool for the past like a couple years I love them so much you’ve probably seen them in my Instagram videos they’re really bright and colorful and neon but yeah these are the best for lifting being felt like a nice and hard and flat yeah I’m and that’s the major thing you don’t want anything when you’re doing a heavy
looking you don’t want cushion because it’s gonna create instability in your ankle and so you want a nice hard flat surface and with the NICU mech on you feel like you’re actually in socks like standing on the ground like you feel like you’re anchoring it to the ground which is what you want when you’re training if you are looking for a shoe just to kind of like enhance your workouts for any weight training these are amazing mm-hmm I need four pairs she has a problem I would not suggest getting these for any sort of like run or like hi intense too much high-intensity training and because they are such a hard shoe they don’t have a lot of flexibility like all you can see is that so there’s not a lot of like give in them so I wouldn’t use these necessarily for running unless it’s just like a super short warm-up run before your weight lifting weight train
oh sorry okay let’s go to a runner next because you brought that up a little bit oka well I have sokka knees okay I know they look a little bit rough right now and it’s because I took them to Arizona because I was doing a lot of walking there but these are actually so comfortable they are like putting on a pair of pillows onto your feet I’ve run my trail runs in them I did my 10k last year in them which is really long really long distance for me but yeah I love these sock knees and these ones are actually at the box now yeah because I like to stock my shoes the freedom is oh – I swear by the adidas ultra boost again
I think I have like five or six pairs of these and every single one of my clients owns a pair of these like that is how much I actually believe in them and love them so much they are the comfy issue for walking running again because they do have a lot of foam and padding which makes it so comfortable and good for running this isn’t the ideal shoe for deadlifts and squatting and especially anything side to side just because the heel is so thick and you don’t want to roll an ankle but for anything running walking just like everyday shoe and a regular on vacation I bring a pair of these if I’m doing a lot of walking like in a city because your feet literally do not get sore at all they are so comfortable even if you don’t own a pair of these you need me to go get one is there that ultra boost X I have both pairs I prefer the X I you think there is a little bit more padding in it these ones are just attributes so they’re a little bit thicker and they don’t have that like yeah a bit of arch support yeah if you prefer to run high but forgot to run and do everything in this this the non ex algae boost is a better option if you do kind of still want to do a little bit of training because then getting the padding isn’t as thick yeah I think this is purely for like running I wouldn’t necessarily buy these for a lot of hits workouts if that’s what you’re doing a lot of but as I don’t find there’s as much like it’s as you can see the laces only start like here so it’s kind of easier for your foot to slip out especially if you’re doing a lot of like quick movements and a lot of agility when you’re just doing something with like running where you’re just going in one playing a motion you’re just going forward these are great but if you are might things where you’re like ankle be slipping out they’re not the best like they’ll hold up yeah but they they’re not my go-to cross-training so you want to kind of explain what sweat exercise and it’s precautionary trainers um so for cross-training.
I would say it’s like again a mix of strength and conditioning I wanted to get away from I wanted to pick something different other than Nike and Adidas I picked the Reebok flex leaf so I got these shoe sent to me last year and actually these are awesome another kind of exercise that can go underneath that category I think is boxing as well yeah definitely so I love these for boxing I love these for anything kind of high-intensity because they are very supportive they’re so light and again they’re super flat so they’re not like flat and hard like the Mekons they’re a little bit softer but they don’t have a huge sole as you couldn’t see mm-hmm and i just feel like there’s a lot of support in them as well and they’re more inexpensive all purpose of this year I think was meant for like sprinting so it is definitely like something that you could do like running in a little bit of conditioning with strength as well I like these I just didn’t like the way they looked on my feet but I’ve seen them on Kelsey’s fee and they look really normal so I don’t know what it was about my eight I am going back to adidas it’s funny because actually Kelsey did not like these right which I find so interesting ivory gifted oh that’s nice of you so these are the adidas I don’t even know adidas I own no much fat yes there are Dina’s edge bounce I found that they had a lot of stability for like my high intensity movement if I’m moving side to side if I’m doing the jump even if I’m doing kind of like some goblet squats with a heavier weight I found these we’re really good for that I’m gonna put these on again there’s the ball where’s the ball oh I don’t feel the ball at all no I hate them okay really yeah but I know other people who also really love them so yeah I have really flat feet maybe has something to do with that really like these and I feel like the difference between these and these ones is that I had more like the ability to tighten the laces and really secure them unto my feet whereas these I feel like are a little bit harder to secure so no these are my these ones I love to wear sari for cross-training and like even if I just have them for a heavy lifting day I’ll wear them as well like I wouldn’t normally choose that but they’ll stand up for both I guess the final shoe and the most fun shoe is the one where you just like want to look cute you just want to wear something athletic or maybe even just like something semi-casual apparently needs a little tank top yeah a little crop top you’re still whipping around this city like you’re whack need to be comfortable yeah for sure and you just want to like look cute but look comfortable and that’s what the sneaker is all about so my favorite ones and I have two pairs of these are the r-system by Puma aren’t
here it’s like every owners literally everywhere okay there’s several reasons why I like them they are just like funky-fresh their wacky colors as you can see super cool colors I really like how this has a really thick heel kind of makes me a little bit taller and then chunkies in yeah the chunky is in and you know what inside the shoe all that thickness is like cushion like it’s like this much cushion so I have walked around in these shoes for like 10 hours and then at the end of the day I’m like yeah I’m good yeah and I have them as well in a white black and hot pink pair and they are just like my favorite yeah my favorite yeah and like I actually do love the Puma shoes for like more fit fashion athleisure style team I really mean rollers they have again like really cool styles as you can see these ones are a little bit more retro but in terms of just like style and overall comfort they are a great option Puma again it’s a little bit more affordable – you cannot sit a bit by and one here at $300 ultra boost you back to here’s a cute but I will say for Puma like I don’t normally wear them for working out they are super high-fashion like I have like a crazy fan tee why
they have these wacky are systems so I love my Kuma’s for like wild wacky yeah on the go shoes maybe not necessarily for working out you’re working on it yeah they’re get they’re getting there
